"Madonna" in the US or "The First album" in Europe, were the names of the debut album by Madonna, released on July 27, 1983. This album did quite well in the charts, reaching the Top 10 in Australia, France, the UK, and US. It was certified 5 times Platinum in the USA, while selling over 10 million copies worldwide. The Borderline single reached number 2 in the UK and was Top 10 in the US. This was the first video that Madonna made with Mary Lambert. The "look" of Madonna's first videos became an icon of the pop culture and a reference in the 80's fashion and style.
